Shannon Samborski, LCP
Co-Owner & Clinical Therapist
Shannon is a co-owner of Tangled Roots, a women-owned wellness center rooted in community, connection, and intentional healing. She works with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety-related disorders, including panic disorder and agoraphobia, as well as depression, chronic illness, relationship concerns, and complex trauma.
She is especially passionate about supporting high-achieving individuals who experience chronic stress, perfectionism, and burnout. Shannon approaches this work with deep respect for how these patterns once served a purpose, while gently guiding clients toward a more sustainable, balanced way of living. Her personal experience with chronic illness also allows her to show up with a unique level of understanding and attunement to the complexities that come with living in a body that doesn’t always cooperate.
Clients are drawn to Shannon’s warm, curious, and grounded presence. She creates space to explore how early experiences shape core beliefs, coping patterns, and relationships, helping clients build insight while reconnecting with themselves in a more compassionate way.
Shannon integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and evidence-based approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) into her work. Her approach supports clients in gaining clarity, increasing self-acceptance, and moving toward a life that feels more aligned with their values.
Shannon earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. She also holds a Master’s degree in Higher Education and brings over a decade of experience supporting college students through identity development, life transitions, and career exploration.
Outside of the therapy room, Shannon values slowing down and staying connected to what matters most. She is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and enjoys long walks, good coffee, reading, and caring for her two rabbits.
A Note from Shannon
Growth isn’t about becoming someone new, it’s about understanding yourself more deeply and learning how to care for the parts of you that have been carrying so much.
In our work together, we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, creating space for both insight and change. You don’t have to have it all figured out, we’ll navigate it, together.
